minnies recovery

Minnie had her surgery.

Filed under: Uncategorized — patreynoso at 1:55 am on Saturday, February 18, 2017

Sorry, new to blogging. So today my Minnie had her front right leg amputated. She had nerve damage for almost one year. She had no trauma to it, doctors didnt know what was wrong with her. Just one day out of the blue she started limping.
So she developed a sore on her leg and the doctor daid it had to come off. I just couldn’t afford it.
I found the Sam Simon Foundation and they helped me. Today she had her surgery.
She is wimpering a lot and doctor said no medication till tomorrow morning. I dont know what to do to help her.
Will keep you posted on an updates.

Sorry to hear about your sweet Minnie! I k ow this whole ordeal is upsetting, but Minnie will be glad to have that bum leg gone!

As far as pain meds, I guess the Vet felt like she had enough surgery meds in her for awhile. Maybe he sent her home with a lain latch? Not sure I loke the idea of withholding her pain meds!! I’m not a Vet though and not giving Vet advice. But definitely get her started. This is MAJOR SURGERY and it hurts!! Generally dogs come home with tramadol, Gabapentin, an antibiotic and Rimadyl.

Hang in there!

Hugs!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
